As you may know, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has really come down on Internet marketing clowns who’ve made dubious promises to customers via third-party testimonials.
Hopefully, you haven’t fallen prey to the types of promotions that promise you’ll make a million dollars selling stuff online or that you’ll earn $36,000 in 24 hours.
Many of my contemporaries are in a panic because until now, their business models have been based on making these types of “blue sky” offers to customers while simultaneously issuing disclaimers replete with phrases such as “results may vary.”
Anyway, it’s now illegal to make such claims about products and services, but I’m not worried.
I’ve never pitched get-rich-quick scenarios or promised lots of money for little work. My Web site, www.MichaelAngeloCaruso.com has no trace of such chicanery. Never did, never will.
Let’s face it. Internet marketing, like most types of business, requires due diligence, discipline and know how.
Congratulations, FTC, on a decent piece of legislation.
