The King of passive income

The King of passive income

Elvis Presley’s former home, Graceland, attracts over half-a-million visitors a year.  It has been declared a National Historic Landmark, a designation it shares with the Alamo, Pearl Harbor Naval Base, and Mount Vernon, George Washington’s former home.

The Elvis Presley Trust brought in more than $52 million in 2008, a year that a dead Elvis out-earned a living Madonna by $12 million.

The King almost always heads Forbes’ list of Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, which gives new meaning to the phrase, “passive income.”

The secret to earning passive income is to create value that can be produced, delivered and collected on with almost no effort.

Promote everything

Even the best opportunities need to be promoted.

Our founding fathers issued 74 invitations to the first meeting of the Continental Congress.  Only about 52 people attended and half were lawyers.

It’s hard to “under-promote” a product, service or event.  Use multiple channels to issue multiple invitations.

That’s why having one distribution list doesn’t carry the day anymore.  Your competition is using their e-mail dist list, a personal Facebook page, a Facebook Fan Page, a Linkedin list and a Twitter list.  They are posting to each several times a week and in some cases, several times a day.
